Exploring Kansas City and Celebrating Love
Engagement sessions like this one are such a reminder of how fun and meaningful photography can be. Dee and Grant’s engagement session was all about exploring, laughing, and capturing their connection in places that truly reflect the energy of their relationship. We started the afternoon at their apartment in Overland Park, Kansas, and then all rode together into Kansas City, Missouri, turning the session into a mini adventure.
Our first stop was the iconic National WWI Museum and Memorial. We took photos on the grand stairs before heading up to capture the stunning Kansas City skyline in the background. It was a beautiful Sunday afternoon in February, with the temperature reaching around 65 degrees, one of those unexpectedly perfect winter days that feels like a gift. The light, the views, and Dee and Grant’s easy chemistry made this part of the session unforgettable.
Next, we headed to the Kansas City Public Library – Central Library, where we photographed along the street and beside the building’s famous book mural. The textures, colors, and architecture added so much character to their images, and Dee and Grant fit right into the space as if it was made just for them.
To wrap up the session, we made our way to the West Bottoms, stopping under bridges and around the historic buildings that give the area its gritty charm. This final location brought a completely different feel; urban, relaxed, and full of personality. We spent time exploring, talking, and letting moments unfold naturally, which always leads to the most genuine photos.
What made this session so special wasn’t just the locations, it was the experience. Dee and Grant were relaxed, playful, and completely present with each other, making the entire shoot feel effortless. Engagement sessions like this are about more than photos; they’re about capturing a season of life that’s full of excitement and possibility.
Exploring Kansas City with Dee and Grant was such a joy, and I’m so grateful I got to capture the love, laughter, and memories they created together.
