A Day Filled with Love, Laughter, and One Incredible Celebration
Some wedding days leave an impression that stays with you long after you've packed up your camera, and Joshua and Caleb Hathaway-Blaize's wedding was absolutely one of those days. Held at Twin Oaks Event Space in Warrensburg, Missouri, their wedding was a beautiful celebration of love, friendship, and the people who have helped shape their lives. From beginning to end, the entire day was overflowing with joy, laughter, happy tears, and unforgettable moments.
One of the first things that stood out was just how genuinely kind Joshua and Caleb are. They are two of the sweetest people I've had the pleasure of photographing, and their warmth made everyone around them feel like family. Their wedding party reflected exactly who they are, with an incredible 26 friends and family members standing beside them as they exchanged their vows. Looking around, it was easy to see that every person there played an important role in their lives, creating a ceremony that felt deeply personal and full of love.
The ceremony itself was one of the most unique and heartfelt I've ever witnessed. Instead of deciding ahead of time who would read their vows first, they spun a special wheel they also use at home, bringing laughter to everyone before one of the most meaningful moments of the day. It was such a perfect reflection of their relationship; filled with fun, humor, and authenticity. They also invited Kyle and Aaron to speak during the ceremony, sharing stories and memories that highlighted the incredible bond Joshua and Caleb have built together.
There were so many thoughtful details throughout the ceremony that made the day uniquely theirs. Elizabeth Larson served as the ring bearer, while Jesse Gutierrez proudly took on the role of flower guy, bringing smiles to every guest. Their "grooms people" stood beside them with unwavering support, reminding everyone that family is often built through the friendships we choose.
Following the ceremony, everyone gathered for a reception that continued the celebration in the best way possible. Jessica Kubarek, the Maid of Honor, and Ryan Marler, the Best Man, shared heartfelt speeches and a memorable toast that perfectly captured the love and friendship surrounding the couple. Dinner was catered by Char Bar from Kansas City, and it was every bit as delicious as everyone said it would be.
Once the first dances and the mother-and-groom dances came to a close, the celebration shifted into high gear. Thanks to the incredible entertainment by Jes Vibes, the dance floor stayed full, the music kept everyone moving, and the energy never slowed down. Guests, family, friends and honestly, even I couldn't help but have an amazing time.
As a Missouri wedding photographer, these are the weddings that remind me why I love what I do. It's never just about documenting a ceremony or reception.
