Sweet Moments and a Beautiful Bond in the Evening Light


Lauren and her son Tripp’s mommy and me session at Hazel Hill Farm was one of those sessions that felt so simple, yet so meaningful. It was a beautiful evening, and the light was soft and calm; perfect for capturing those quiet, genuine moments between a mom and her child.

Lauren and Tripp showed up dressed in the cutest overalls, which added such a sweet and timeless feel to the session. Tripp had just woken up when they arrived, but it didn’t take long for his curiosity to take over. Within minutes, he was wide awake, looking around, taking everything in, and ready to explore. Watching that transition was so fun, and it made the session feel even more natural.

We started in a field shaded by trees, where the soft light created a gentle, cozy atmosphere. Tripp was full of expressions; smiling, laughing, and taking in the world around him. He did amazing the entire time, and his joy made every photo feel full of life. What stood out most was how naturally he and Lauren connected. They laughed together, held each other close, and shared those little moments that show just how strong their bond is.

From there, we moved over to the swing on the property, which added such a playful and memorable element to the session. Watching them swing together while Tripp smiled and looked around was easily one of the sweetest parts of the evening. Those simple interactions often end up being the most meaningful, and this was a perfect example of that.

As a family photographer in Missouri, sessions like this are always so special to me. They’re not about long timelines or perfect poses; they’re about capturing connection in its purest form. Even in just a short session, you could clearly see the love between Lauren and Tripp, and it made every moment behind the camera feel meaningful.

Lauren and Tripp’s session was filled with laughter, sweetness, and such a beautiful bond; I’m so grateful I got to capture these moments for them.
