An Evening Full of Joy, Laughter, and Sweet Moments


The Steuber mommy and me session at Hazel Hill Farm was one of those evenings that felt full of light and happiness from beginning to end. The weather was absolutely perfect, and the soft evening glow created the ideal setting for capturing such meaningful moments. Desiree and her kids, Annabelle and Mason, were such a joy to work with, bringing so much energy and love into the session.

We started in a field shaded by the trees, where the light filtered through just enough to create a soft, peaceful atmosphere. Annabelle and Mason stayed close to their mom, smiling, chatting, and soaking in those sweet moments together. You could instantly tell how much they adore her, and that connection made every photo feel genuine and full of heart.

From there, we made our way to the swing on the property; one of my favorite spots at Hazel Hill Farm. Desiree gently pushed each child one at a time and then together, and the joy on their faces was absolutely priceless. Their laughter filled the air, and those simple moments turned into some of the most meaningful images from the session.

To wrap things up, we headed to an open space where the kids could just be kids. They ran around, played ring around the rosie, and completely embraced the freedom of the moment. Those playful interactions are always some of my favorite to capture because they’re so real and full of life. It’s in those unposed moments where the true personality of a family shines through.

As a family photographer in Missouri, sessions like this are such a reminder of why I love what I do. It’s not about perfection; it’s about connection, laughter, and capturing the little moments that mean the most. The Steuber family brought all of that and more, making this session feel effortless and full of joy.
