Welcoming Baby Cash at Home with the Voelker Family


There’s something so special about in-home newborn sessions, and this one with the Voelker family was full of warmth, love, and the sweetest moments. I had the best time capturing this beautiful family in their home Mom Alexis, Dad Kyle, big brother Theo, big sister Poppy, and their newest addition, baby Cash. From the moment I walked in, you could feel the joy and excitement that comes with welcoming a new baby into the family.

We started the session in their living room, gathered together on the couch where everyone could relax and simply be themselves. These are some of my favorite moments to photograph; no pressure, just genuine connection. Alexis and Kyle held baby Cash close while Theo and Poppy leaned in, curious and full of excitement. There were smiles, gentle touches, and those quiet in-between moments that make newborn photography so meaningful.

Theo and Poppy were absolutely smitten with their baby brother. You could see it in the way they looked at him, the way they carefully cuddled up beside him, and how proud they were to be part of this new chapter. Those sibling moments are always so special, and they added so much heart to this session.

We then moved into the bedroom, where the whole family cuddled together on the bed. The soft light, the closeness, and the simplicity of the setting created such a peaceful and intimate feel. Sessions like this don’t need anything elaborate; the love between a family is more than enough. It’s those quiet, cozy moments that often become the most treasured.

As a newborn photographer in Missouri, I love capturing families in their own space. There’s something about being at home that allows everyone to relax and connect in a way that feels natural and true. This session with the Voelkers was exactly that authentic, heartfelt, and full of love.
