Wildflowers, Golden Light, and an Evening Full of Beautiful Memories
There are some evenings that remind me exactly why I love photography, and the first set of my Wildflower Mini Sessions at Hazel Hill Farm was definitely one of them. If it hadn't been for the summer heat, I honestly don't think the evening could have been any more perfect. The wildflowers were in full bloom, the scenery was absolutely breathtaking, and every family and couple brought their own unique personalities that made the evening so much fun.
One of my favorite things about offering mini sessions is getting to meet so many wonderful people in a single evening. During this first round of sessions, I had the opportunity to photograph a senior, a couple, a family, and a "just because" session. Even though each session only lasted a short time, every one of them had its own story, and every person stepped in front of my camera ready to laugh, have fun, and create memories.
The Missouri heat definitely made its presence known that evening, but no one let it slow them down. Everyone embraced the experience, smiled through the warm temperatures, and made the most of every minute we had together. Those genuine smiles and natural interactions are exactly what make my favorite photographs. When people relax and simply enjoy the moment, that's when the magic happens.
Of course, the real star of the evening was the wildflower field itself. Hazel Hill Farm never disappoints, but seeing the flowers in full bloom created a backdrop that felt almost too beautiful to be real. The vibrant colors, soft evening light, and natural landscape came together to create a setting that complemented every session perfectly. Whether we were capturing romantic moments between a couple, celebrating a senior milestone, or documenting family memories, the flowers added a timeless beauty to every image.
As a Missouri photographer, sessions like these remind me that photography is about so much more than posing for the camera. It's about preserving personalities, relationships, and seasons of life. Every client who joined me that evening brought something different, and I loved watching each session unfold in its own unique way.
